Yorba Linda

Yorba Linda is a residential city in northeastern Orange County that is most widely known as the birthplace of President Richard Nixon, whose family home on the Yorba Linda property is preserved as the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. The city’s approximately 70,000 residents live in a community that has maintained a distinctly suburban character, with large residential lots, equestrian trails, and a low density that is unusual in a city of its size in the OC market.

The trail connectivity in the northern sections of the city is one of the more developed in northern OC.

Real estate in Yorba Linda covers a range from condominiums in the $600,000 to $800,000 range to single-family homes in the $900,000 to $2 million range, with the larger lots and more established character of the eastern sections of the city commanding premiums. The horse trail access, the school district, and the relatively low density character of the residential neighborhoods are the primary drivers of buyer interest in Yorba Linda specifically over other northern OC communities at comparable price points.

The Chino Hills State Park, accessible from the eastern edge of Yorba Linda via the Carbon Canyon Regional Park trail connections, provides a significant wilderness hiking and mountain biking environment that extends the trail access available to Yorba Linda residents well beyond what is available within the city itself. The park’s chaparral and grassland terrain provides habitat for a diverse wildlife community including mountain lions, mule deer, coyotes, and a variety of raptor species.

The Yorba Linda Farmers Market, held at a regular weekly schedule in the central Yorba Linda commercial area, reflects the community’s investment in local food culture and in the weekly community gathering that farmers markets provide. The market’s vendor mix includes produce, prepared foods, and artisan products that connect the community to the agricultural and artisan food traditions of the broader Southern California region.

The city’s Republican political identity, which it shares with its status as the birthplace of Richard Nixon, has historically attracted a buyer profile that values the community’s predominantly single-family residential character, its resistance to high-density development, and its maintenance of the large-lot, low-density residential environment that gives it a character more reminiscent of the suburban communities of an earlier era than the dense planned communities of the contemporary OC market.
