Modjeska Canyon is a small unincorporated community in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains in eastern Orange County, named for Helena Modjeska, the Polish actress who established a ranch in the canyon in 1888 and whose presence attracted a literary and artistic colony to the area in the late nineteenth century.
